As life expectancy increases and more families find themselves responsible for elder care, women in the workplace face unique challenges. Women often find themselves juggling caregiving responsibilities with their professional and personal lives, leading to emotional, financial, and career-related pressures. Moderated by Kelly Nagel, this panel discussion will explore how women manage these roles, the impact on their careers, and the workplace policies and support systems needed to ease the strain.

Featuring a panel of women leaders and professionals, the discussion will focus on real-life experiences, personal strategies for managing caregiving duties without sacrificing career growth, and innovative workplace solutions. The panel will cover:

  • Understanding the unique challenges of women in the workplace who are responsible for elder care for a loved one.
  • Practical strategies for balancing caregiving responsibilities with career goals.
  • Personal stories of resilience and advice for managing stress and burnout.
  • Insights into workplace policies and initiatives that support women caregivers.
  • Resources to help navigate elder care management.
About Kelly Nagel

Kelly has spent nearly 30 years in IT working her way up from sales representative of the world's largest distributor to Regional President of the global leader in professional audio technology. Kelly is currently an Advisory Board member of The WIT Network where she is dedicating her time to promote the advancement of women in technology. Kelly believes it is vitally important to connect, empower and inspire women to find career success. As a mother, daughter and friend, she is passionate about mentorship and sponsorship of women climbing their career ladder. Mentorship played a huge part in getting Kelly to where she is today and drives her to dedicate her time in mentoring and sponsoring others. 

About Kelley Irwin 

Kelley Irwin is a Strategic Advisor and Board Director. Ms. Irwin has 35 years technology and executive management experience including 10 years as a Chief Information Officer (CIO). Her experience spans the banking, insurance, energy, and technology sectors.

She is a Strategic Advisor for start-up CEOs in technology and serves as a Board Director for three corporations. She contributes expertise in governance, technology, and cyber security.

Ms. Irwin is an advocate for diversity in technology and cyber security and is a frequent keynote speaker and panelist. She has co-authored two books focused on women in technology.

For the past two years, Kelley has been blogging about her Dad as they navigate their personal journey with dementia.

About Leslie Errington
 

Leslie Errington is a technology executive and Board Chair with over 20 years of experience designing innovative solutions to improve health outcomes in health systems and life sciences. Ms. Errington has worked extensively with AI and healthcare technology, bridging the gap between technical advancements and patient care. She founded Vital Ally, a platform dedicated to shared caregiving that enables virtual care and emotional support for families.

Ms. Errington serves as Board Chair for the Northern California community at The WIT Network and is a member of the Executive Leadership Team for the San Francisco Walk to End Alzheimer’s at the Alzheimer’s Association. Her personal experience of losing her mother to Alzheimer’s disease ignited her passion for improving elder care and access to compassionate care. She is also a strong advocate for empowering women in the technology sector and actively mentors women in technology to advance their careers.

About Nathalie Dennis

With a career spanning over 30 years, Nathalie began in telecommunications holding various roles at AT&T in human resources and government services. Soon after, she found her calling in the nonprofit sector focusing on writing, event planning and management, and fundraising in education, healthcare, and later, for a domestic violence prevention agency. Throughout her nonprofit career, Nathalie has worked for women-led organizations, championing meaningful causes.

In 2022, she ventured into the technology field, joining The WIT Network as a Programs and Marketing Specialist. Today, as Programs Manager, she oversees the planning and production of global events and programs for the organization’s members.

Nathalie’s passion for women’s causes and innovative healthcare is unwavering, as she volunteers for organizations that align with these values. She is the proud mother of 3 phenomenal adult children who are making a difference in the world. Embracing life’s twists and turns, Nathalie is always in pursuit of living her best life. When she’s not behind the scenes at The WIT Network, she loves spending time with family and friends, dancing every day, exercising, traveling (including long road trips), and spoiling her 2-year-old grandpup.
