Event Description

Breaking the Silence: Together We Can Prevent Suicide One Conversation at a Time
Sparking Awareness, Education, and Action - So No One Else Is Caught by Surprise

In the wake of our community’s devastating experience with suicide, it has become clear that breaking the silence is essential to saving lives. "Breaking the Silence: Together, We Can Prevent Suicide One Conversation at a Time" is a talk dedicated to sparking awareness, driving education, and encouraging proactive action. We’ll explore how recognizing the signs, having open conversations, and accessing available resources can make a crucial difference. By coming together, we aim to ensure that no one else is caught by surprise - so that every life is valued, supported, and protected.

Participants will gain:

  • Practical Tools: The ability to recognize the warning signs of suicide and understand how to respond effectively.
  • Conversation Techniques: Strategies for having compassionate, non-judgmental conversations with those who may be at risk, including what to say and what to avoid.
  • Resource Knowledge: A comprehensive understanding of the resources available for suicide prevention and how to connect individuals to the help they need.
  • Personal Empowerment: The confidence to take proactive steps in their own lives and within their circles to drive awareness, education, and action for suicide prevention.
  • “It’s a Life Worth Living” Challenge: A 30-day guide to focusing on the small things that make life worth living, helping to cultivate gratitude, hope, and a renewed sense  of purpose.

We hope you will join us for this very important conversation.
