Psychological Safety

Psychological safety: the gateway to success
Psychological safety is defined as "a belief that one will not be punished or humiliated for speaking up with ideas, questions, concerns, or mistakes".

We are thrilled to be able to invite you to a workshop on Psychological Safety in partnership with The Fearless Organization.
The session lasts 90 minutes and will be highly interactive with a live Q&A.

If you do not feel safe in a group, you are likely to keep ideas to yourself and avoid speaking up, even about risks. Furthermore, if mistakes are held against you, you will seek to avoid making mistakes and stop taking risks, rather than making the most out of your talents. Low psychological safety, therefore, gets in the way of both team performance, innovation, learning, and personal success.

For you to be successful in your team, and "as a team", psychological safety is the enabler.

This insight is the result of almost 30 years of research by Prof Amy Edmondson, supported and reinforced by an extensive five-year research program (Project Aristotle) among 180 teams inside Google.

We are launching a broad survey of psychological safety in the technology industry.

For that purpose we would like to also invite you to participate in a brief survey based on Prof Amy Edmondson’s work, the leading researcher on the topic at Harvard Business School. It takes only 3,5 minutes to complete. Please click HERE to participate in the survey.  We want as many people as we can of all genders to complete the survey so please feel free to share with your networks and your organisation.

During this workshop, you will learn:
-    Why psychological safety is important
-    What the core concepts behind it are
-    What you can do to increase it

You will leave with ideas, new tools and confidence to take back into your workplace.
Given the mission of  The WIT Network - encouraging girls and women to study STEM and pursuing a career in tech - we want to focus it on how people who self-identify as women, a different gender or men experience psychological safety in their role in a tech company and compare these results. We looking forward to seeing you.
