India Community Event - Working Moms
5/23/2022
6:00 AM - 7:00 AM

Event Description
As we celebrate Mother’s day in May, we are turning our focus to Working Moms this month!

Motherhood confers upon a woman the responsibility of raising a child. This process also changes the way in which she is perceived in society and at her workplace. The working mother is an institution in her own right, one who combines a successful career giving her financial independence, with an effective motherhood raising a child. It is important to understand that both these jobs are extremely demanding, and to do justice to each without neglecting the other is a formidable task.

The speakers – Suet Koon Lai  and Kamalika Sen Roy will try to clarify the difficulties a working mother may have on functioning with such dual responsibility and talk of the joys concerned!

Koon is an Executive Coach to leaders who seek to enhance their leadership effectiveness in a cross-cultural ecosystem. She draws her coaching expertise from her 20 year career journey starting as an international student with English as her second language, a migrant navigating her way up in corporate Australia and working mom of 3 boys to being a global director in PwC.  She is an alumnus of Board Observer Ship Program and Asialink Leaders Program and holds a Bachelor of Law and Commerce from the University of Melbourne.

Kamalika is an alumnus of the London School of Economics, University of London and an old timer with PwC. She attributes her vast experience that she was able to gather while working for the organization globally. Currently, she leads the Risk Consulting business and is responsible for managing the Diversity & Inclusion and Women in Technology programs for the PwC Kolkata Acceleration Centre.
