Event Name:WIT Wellness Webinar: Mental Health - Recognizing Burnout Before It’s Too Late
Event Type(s):Webinars
Description:

Conversations about mental health are more important than ever. Burnout, no longer just a catch phrase, is a critical part of this conversation, not only because it impacts people at all levels in all aspects of their lives but also because it can be avoided. In this webinar, Joanna Strong will share her personal journey through this often overlooked mental health syndrome. You will hear how after years of mounting pressure, multiple personal setbacks, and suffering from unhealed trauma, she realized that she was on the cusp of a breakdown. She will also share how she returned to work after her inspiriting recovery. Join us for this powerful session to learn:

  • Tips and tools to help you in your own burnout journey
  • The anatomy of a breakdown and what help looks like - and why asking for help is a strength, not a weakness
  • Recognizing what trauma looks like and how it's linked to burnout
  • How to start conversations with team members about burnout
  • Life and work habits to help avoid burnout in the future

Joanna Strong is the CEO of Commerx, an Information Technology & Services company located in Ontario. Since joining Commerx in 1988, Strong has held nearly every position in the company, from the warehouse to Vice President of Operations. "Trust me" she says, "there is strength in understanding you are not alone. I hope by sharing my journey, others will learn how to recognize the symptoms themselves as well as acquire tools to help them or someone they care about before it's too late."
